Hi,
Thanks for your response to my emails. I do have one question which may go toward an idiosyncrasy with the product or with my iPod… or I’m just not doing it right. I can’t put my finger on it yet but there seems to be some requirement to connect things in a certain order to make it go. ie:
1)connect to the internet
2)start v-ap
3)establish wifi connectivity between the iPod and laptop – at this point the wifi settings in the iPod (for the SSID: Virtual Access Point) will show a ip address and subnet
4)then ‘start sharing’ in v-ap application – at this point (or some moments later) the wifi settings in the iPod will show data in the remaining fields: router, dns and search domains
5)only once this happens can you connect through to the Internet with the iPod.
What I have experienced is that if you ‘start sharing’ before the wifi connection is fully established the iPod does not receive the additional settings (router, dns and search domains) and therefore cannot get through to the Internet. In this case the iPod and laptop may look like they are connected (by wifi) but the additional data (router, dns and search domains) do not come through to the iPod.

Sorry if this is a little long winded, but any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Regards

Virtual Access point will include Proxy settings

Hello Virtual AP Team,
Would like the ability of Virtual Access point to include proxy settings
so the wireless device connected to Virtual AP does not need to input
them.

I can configure the Virtual Ap application correctly, I see the SSID on my iPhone, I connect successfully but as I see the iPhone never gets an IP…

September 14th, 2010 No comments

Hello,

I have used Virtual Ap on a laptop as a demo license, without any issue.
I then decided to purchase a license, and continue working with it after the
demo license expired.

On the laptop, I installed the Full version and entered the license you send
me.

I can configure the Virtual Ap application correctly, I see the SSID on my
iPhone, I connect successfully but as I see the iPhone never gets an IP…

See the screenshot I send you,

Best Regards

Virtual Access Point shows it has a connection to the internet through my sprint card, but fails to allow me to set up a connection with my iPod

September 14th, 2010 No comments

I am having issues trying to demo your software.  I am attempting to use virtual access point to share my sprint card connection through my wireless.  According to the limited instructions, when I start up virtual AP, I should see the default virtual AP to join through the wireless on my iPod.  I am unfortunately not seeing it.  VAP shows that it has a connection to the internet through my sprint card, but fails to allow me to set up a connection with my iPod.

How to share my sprint connection on HP DV Vista laptop

September 14th, 2010 No comments

Hi,

I am attempting to use your software to share my sprint connection on my laptop across my internal wireless card.  Your software see’s that I am connected to the internet, and it see’s my wireless card, but for some reason it says my wireless card is disconnected.  In looking at my network manager, my wireless card is active and is running.  Do you know what I would need to do to get this functioning so I can share?

I am operating on an HP DV laptop, with windows vista, all updates
installed.

Thanks

Windows XP laptop broadcast wireless signal to iPod when travelling(2)

September 9th, 2010 No comments

Hi -

Now it’s my turn to apologize for a late reply.
I was away on vacation with no internet access.  My question originally arose when I was travelling, accessing a different network.  Since at home I have a wireless router, there is no problem with making the iPod connection.  Is there any way we can trouble shoot this without my having to be in an area with no wireless signal?    To answer your questions based on the place where I was having trouble:

1). To the best of my knowledge I chose the right network, which was LAN.  But that choice was based on the fact that my laptop connected to the wireless network on a LAN protocol.  I can’t tell you the IP address because I am no longer there; my home network has a wireless signal so I don’t see how to figure this out here.
2). The laptop uses AVG Internet Security.  I don’t know if it is blocking the internet from the iPod (not iPad); I don’t think so because I can’t find any notice in the AVG module.
3). For the wired network where I was there were no other strict rules.

Of course, now much of the information is outdated because, as I mentioned, when I originally emailed you I was in a different place staying temporarily, and have long since returned home.  Is this something which we can figure out without having a wired connection only?

September 9th, 2010 1 comment

Hi,

As I recently purchased and installed Virtual Access Point version 3.0.0 and can’t get it to work properly, I need help.  I want to use my laptop as a server to my iPod Touch.  I can’t find any instructions on how to do this.  Can you help me?  My laptop is running Windows XP, the wireless connection software is Intel PROSet/Wireless and the wireless card in the laptop is 802.11 G/N.  Do I need any other hardware in order to broadcast the signal?

Share internet to Windows XP and Windows 7 via 3G Mobile broadband adapter

September 2nd, 2010 No comments

Hi,

I am interested in your Virtual AP software. Can you please tell me how
many client PCs can connect to the PC running Virtual AP?

I have two PCs that could run the software – one is Windows XP
Professional and the other one is Windows 7 Professional (64-bit). I
would like to use a 3G Mobile broadband adapter as the Internet
provider. It will be connected to PC running the Virtual AP software.

Thanks

August 30th, 2010 1 comment
>Hi,
>Tried it in my Thinkpad T60p with XP sp3-did not work. Tried in it my toshiba- XP sp2 -it did not work. The software says connected and everything looks fine on both the host machine and the client machine – but there is not internet on the the client laptop.
>My host machine is directly connected to internet via Ethernet. Let me know the solution and if you need any info from my side. If it works then I can get a licence, but for now -its not working.
>I know there is a bug in ISC SP3, but its not even working in SP2.
>By the way, I have vista in my desktop with a wireless card. i can easily set it up for ICS and both my Thinkpad and Toshiba gets wireless internet without problems.
